East Anglia: The Way of the Annunciation (GPX only)

A Pilgrim Way from the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Norwich to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham at Houghton St Giles, Little Walsingham.
The Way follows the Walsingham Way in tandem with the River Wensum for much of distance, along quiet back roads and across farmland. Some of the route coincides with the Marriott's Way along a former railway line. The Way passes the site of the former Saxon Cathedral of East Anglia at Elmham and travels on across farmland and small villages. At Great Ryburgh the Pilgrim Way leaves the Walsingham Way to visit the Church of St Anthony of Padua in Fakenham, then on to reach the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham at Houghton St Giles. Pilgrims can walk on to the village of Walsingham and the Anglican shrine via a path along a disused railway line.
