Mountain tour via the west ridge to the Köllenspitze, the highest peak of the Tannheimer Group

The tour takes us via the Gimpelhaus and the Nesselwängler Scharte up to the Köllenspitze, at 2238 m the highest peak in the Tannheimer Berge. The first part of the tour leads through the forest up to the Gimpelhaus. After that the path becomes much more demanding, from the Nesselwängler Scharte onwards the climbing route on the west ridge begins, which mostly leads over rough rock. A rope-free ascent is only recommended for experienced climbers, as the route reaches grade III in places. At the summit, a view awaits us that stretches across the Alpine foothills with the Forggensee and the Alpsee to the mighty peaks of the Zugspitze and the Hochvogel.
