The quaint village Rettenberg is located between the Grünten and the Rottachberg. Several hiking trails lead us from the village up to the woody mountain ridge of the Rottachberg. There is a good network of well developed hiking paths in that landscape of beautiful mixed forests and lush green pastures. From the Falkenstein, the highest point of the Rottachberg, we are able to enjoy a gorgeous view of the valley Illertal. Climbing down, it is worth to take a break at the viewing pavillon at the Gebhardshöhe. The panorama is beautiful, we see the Grünten, the Oberstdorfer Berge and the Hörnergruppe and as far as the Mittag.
