Surrounding Mount Tâmpa is an alternative to the classic climb to the top. It can be done in any season since it's not very demanding. This is not a route to do for the views, but rather a relaxing long walk. It can be covered even with your dog, by bike, and with older children - given the length.

It starts with the blue triangle marking which will change along the way, depending on the direction. The path on this segment is popular among locals. Since the width of the path is wide enough, cyclists often cross your way.

In the northern part, you'll reach the rather touristic routes that go to the Tâmpa Peak. Also here, the panorama opens toward the city. Moving onward toward Șchei, the path climbs to Saua Tâmpei. Before the climb and higher, there are benches to catch your breath.

To descend back to the city, follow the yellow triangle marking that will take you to the place called La Iepure. The paths that deviate from the route and descend into the city are practicable in dry weather.

Author’s recommendation

The segment that's rather touristic walks parallel to the Promenade. If you want to stop, you can quickly descend to the city center.
