Hike with great views over the Salmaser Höhe between Oberstaufen and Immenstadt.

The scenic, not too difficult hike over the Salmaser Höhe is an insider tip for spring and autumn, when there is still – or already – snow at higher altitudes. At 1254 m, the Salmaser Hühe is the highest elevation in the Hügel chain that runs north between Immenstadt and Oberstaufen. From the starting point in Wiedemannsdorf to the summit, you have to cover about 500 metres of altitude. The hiking trails run across mountain meadows and through small wooded areas. Again and again we pass alpine huts, some of which are also open in summer. On reaching the summit of the Salmaser Hütte, a wide panoramic view opens up in all directions. At our feet lies the Constance Valley to the south, behind which rise the mountains of the Allgäu Nagelfluh range. To the east, we can look far beyond the Great Alpsee into the Allgäu Alps. And to the north is the hilly foothills of the Alps with its meadows, forests and small villages.
