The River Lahn is one of the most beautiful canoe rivers in Germany. Far away from any hustle and bustle and past untouched river meadows or steep rock faces, there is something new to discover around every bend of the river, and there are plenty of it in the lower part of the River Lahn between Limburg and the mouth of the Rhine in Lahnstein.

This tour leads from Balduinstein to the tranquil Laurenburg. Here, in picturesque Balduinstein, the River Lahn has already carved itself into the rock like a gorge, the steep slopes are forested and Schaumburg Castle rises on the hill above the village. The large loop of the River Lahn, the Cramberg Arch, is also impressive, with the famous Gabelstein viewpoint towering above it.
Author’s recommendation
The Balduinstein Lahn facilities invite you to linger before the canoe tour and in the local gastronomy, cafes and kiosk on the River Lahn you can strengthen yourself before starting the tour. In Laurenburg there are places to stop for a nice end to your tour.
