Hiking on the Sălard - Sărăcin route
Alpine Route
· Transylvania
The approved route has, in addition to the beauty of the places, also a historical significance, as the front line of the Second World War crossed here. Even today you can still see the trenches and bunkers built to defend the Mures gorge.

Distance 4 km
The trail starts at the entrance to the village of Sălard, where there is a parking place with a drinking water spring, and climbs steeply through the forest, bypassing the cliffs. After the steep climb we reach the top of the Sărăcin Cliffs from where we have a very nice view over the Mures Valley.
The trail continues with a path that goes forward through the forest crossing from time to time small clearings and then descends steeply on a secondary ridge to the Mures Valley about 500 meters from the starting point.
We return along the road that crosses the gorge.
