Valea Blaznei ski slope at the base of Rodna Mountains is among the very few ski areas in Bistrița-Năsăud county. Its 1500 meter long and 35% inclination grade recommend it as a medium-advanced slope. The altitude at the top reaches 1480 meters; the chair lift installation taking you there is the longest in Romania.
One of the perks of this slope is its location - the dirt road leading up here is hardly accessible with a classic car (off-road is recommended), so not only fewer skiers come here, but tourists also spend longer days at the cabins just below the slope. Not to mention that most guesthouses here also offer spa services.
