The Vaser Valley Railway (Romanian: Calea Ferată Forestieră Vişeu or Mocăniţa de pe Valea Vaserului) is located in the north of Romania, leading from Vișeu de Sus into the Carpathians. It is the last regularly operated forest railway in Romania and runs on tracks with a gauge of 760 millimetres through the valley of the Vaser into the border area with the Ukraine.
Since 2003, it has been owned by the largest employer in the village Vișeu de Sus, the sawmill R.G. Holz Company S.R.L.
The departure point is located at the railway station CFF Viseu de Sus (signposted "Mocănița"), on the site of the sawmill in the north of the town, where complementary tourist facilities have also been created. The tourist train, also known as Mocănița, runs approximately halfway to Paltin station in the Vaser gorge, where a picnic area and barbecue station have been built for passengers.
