The daffodils meadow at Dumbrava Vadului
The daffodil meadows of Dumbrava Vadului, also known as Poiana Narciselor or Dumbrava Narciselor, or Pădurea Vadului (as the locals call it), is a protected area of national interest that attracts hundreds of tourists willing to roam through the flower beds.
The nature reserve was declared a protected area in 2000 and comprises an area of 394.90 hectares. It includes a natural area covered with oak forests and meadows where a species of protected daffodil grows in spring.
Thanks to the podzolic, humid soil, with almost no shadow from the trees, the daffodils just invade the meadows in May. One of the most common species here is Narcissus radiiflorus.
