Also known as the "Spring Palace", the "Ceaușescu Mansion" was for a quarter of a century (1965 - 1989) the private residence of Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu.
The visit is made exclusively with specialized guidance in Romanian, English and, on request, French.
The house makes it easier for us to understand how Ceausescu lived, in his intimacy, beyond the head of state so well known in Romania and abroad. What passions he had, what he liked to do at home, how he was instructed in private, what art collection he gathered in the house.
Inside the exhibition there is an impressive collection of paintings signed by Octav Băncilă, Camil Ressu, Rudolf Cumpăna, Dumitru Ghiață, George Baron Lowendal as well as a lot of handmade tapestries, plus a large number of handmade mosaics by Prof. Olga Porumbaru and Prof. Florin Pârvulescu.
In order to visit it is recommended to book a tour at least 24hours in advance.
