The Windsborn Crater Lake is the only crater lake north of the Alps that is constantly filled with water and is home to many rare animal and plant species.
The Windsborn crater lake is fed exclusively by rainfall and is one of the four volcanoes of the Mosenberg group that belong to the "Mosenberg Row Crater" nature reserve. At Windsborn Cratersee, lava flows that have frozen into stone columns can be admired.
