Peștera Comarnic (Komarnik Cave) is a stalactite cave that was discovered in 1856 and has been part of the Semenic-Cheile Carașului National Park since 1983.

The galleries and halls known to date total a length of 5,229 m. The cave has a massive character, it consists of monumental halls and large stalagmatic formations.

Due to its size and the massiveness and grandeur of the stalagmite formations from here, Comarnic Cave is considered to be the most beautiful in Banat and one of the largest and most impressive caves in Romania. Situated within the radius of the village of Iabalcea, the cave represents a hydrological hole of the Ponicova stream in the limestones that make up the Cleanțul Putnata.

The entrance to the cave is on the left side of the Comarnic valley, about 200 m from the Forest Canton. The Ponicova insurgency entrance is located in a large meadow, with C.M.N. indicator, located near the Reșița-Anina road, 3.5 km away from the canton in the direction of Anina.

The Comarnic cave gained the status of a speleological reservation open to tourism in 1946.
