The castle located on creek Peles Valley was the summer residence of the kings of Romania and was built during the time of King Carol I of Romania, being finalized in 1914.

The state-of-the-art technology used (vacuum celaning and central heating system, power plant) and the beauty and richness of the interiors make this castle one of the most important monuments of 19th century in Europe.

In Peleş Castle you will seet great trends in painting, sculpture and decorative arts. A place full of history where royal and visionary artists did meet, and it was the home of the creator of modern Romania, King Carol I , being the expression of the desire to affirm and legitimate the Romanian people among the modern nations of Europe.

The castle benefits from an impressive artistic heritage consisting of collections of stained-glass windows, furniture and weapons containing pieces dating back to the 15th century.

Peleş Castle can be visited partially, with Romanian, English, French, Spanish and Italian guides.
