The UNESCO World Heritage Churches are remarkable architectural examples build in different centuries and regions. These show the variety of models and craftsmanship adopted in these constructions, with tall, thin towers, located at the western end of the building, covered with a shingle roof. Because of this, the churches represent particular indigenous achievements in the cultural landscape of the mountainous zone in northern Romania.
