Experience nature and culture around Lake Constance

Are you drawn to the outdoors? Then head for Lake Constance. The warm climate and generally good weather around the lake make for perfect conditions for hiking, biking and water sports. The classic is the three to four day round trip on the Lake Constance bike path, but there are also plenty of shorter routes and hikes to discover. Between orchards and lush meadows you can enjoy the sun - plus, on the south side of Lake Constance, it's not far to the Alps!

For culture lovers, the lake has the right sightseeing spot for every taste. Proud churches and historic buildings such as the Birnau Basilica or Meersburg Castle magically attract visitors. Exciting museums such as the pile-dwelling museum in Unteruhldingen (Unesco World Heritage Site!) or the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen should also not be missing from any vacation plan. If you are traveling with the whole family, you should take a trip to the Affenberg Salem, where about 200 Barbary macaques live.

One of the most popular sights at Lake Constance is the flower island Mainau. Especially in spring, when thousands of flowers bloom in the extensive gardens, it is worth taking the ferry across. The island of Mainau is served from all major ports on the shores of Lake Constance.
