The maximum altitude is recorded in Omu Peak (2505 m) in the Bucegi Mountains, and the minimum of about 120–125 m, in the Titu Plain.
The relief of Dâmbovița County presents a great landscape diversity. The succession of relief steps bears the imprint of both geological and physiogeographic factors, which actively participated in their formation and evolution. The oldest and highest relief unit, located in the northern part of the county, is formed by the Leaota and Bucegi mountains.
The hydrological network in Dâmbovița County belongs to two distinct hydrographic systems: that of Ialomița, in the northeastern half, and that of Argeș in the southwestern half.
The territory of Dâmbovița County belongs in a proportion of approx. 80% of the sector with a moderate temperate-continental climate: characteristic of the climatic land of the Romanian Plain and the climatic land of the Subcarpathians) and in a proportion of approx. 20% of the sector characteristic of the climatic lands of the middle and high mountains.
