Castles in Romania

Also known as Hunyadi Castle or Hunedoara Castle, is a medieval castle in Hunedoara. The castle is a representative monument of Gothic architecture in Romania.

The fortress, located on the border between the Transylvania and Muntenia historical provinces, between the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains attracts numerous tourists due to the Legend of Count Dracula.

The castle located on creek Peles Valley was the summer residence of the kings of Romania and was built during the time of King Carol I of Romania, being finalized in 1914.

Domeniul Zăbala de astăzi include un conacul renascentist care a trecut prin multiple modificări și parcul aferent cu anexele transformate în case de oaspeți. Întregul domeniu se întinde pe 50 de hectare.

Ansamblul nobiliar de la Criș reprezintă unul din numeroasele domenii ale familiei Bethlen din Transilvania, fiind totodată un exemplu excelent de arhitectură renascentistă.

Pelişor Castle is a smaller palace built on the Peles Castle domein. It became, since 1903, the summer residence of the hereditary princes of Romania.

Build in the style of the late renaissance, with Italian bastions, it is the oldest and most important historical and cultural monument of Miercurea Ciuc.
